Keralam Higher Education Minister Roji M. John has maintained that the regulations prepared by Kerala University to regulate campus politics would be implemented only after consultations with various stakeholders

मंत्री के अनुसार, विश्वविद्यालय ने छात्रों के लिए आचार संहिता तैयार करने के लिए एक उप-समिति को काम सौंपा था। The decision had been taken following petitions filed before the Kerala High Court after the murder of Abhimanyu M., a second-year student and Students’ Federation of India (SFI) leader, at Maharaja’s College in Ernakulam in 2018

“The sub-committee will examine the document, propose amendments and seek the views of student organisationsand submit it, with necessary amendments, to the Syndicate. Anydecision on student politics will require Syndicate approval, Mr. John told mediapersons in Kochi on Sunday

मंत्री ने कहा कि छात्रों को परिसरों में राजनीति पर चर्चा करने और समझने में सक्षम होना चाहिए और लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया में भाग लेना चाहिए

Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan strongly condemned the Kerala University’s move, calling it an attempt to drive politics and political awareness out of university campuses

एक फेसबुक पोस्ट में उन्होंने कहा कि कैंपस की राजनीति को विनियमित करना असंवैधानिक है और अराजनीतिकरण के समान है। उन्होंने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि इस तरह के फैसले देश भर में उभरे छात्र आंदोलनों से असंतुष्ट लोगों द्वारा अपनाए गए एजेंडे का हिस्सा थे।
